Key Features of the PM Bima Sakhi Yojana:
- Role: As volunteer insurance brokers, participants—known as Bima Sakhis—teach communities about financial planning and insurance products.
- Stipend Structure:
For three years, Bima Sakhis are given a monthly stipend:
1st Year : ₹7,000
2nd Year : ₹6,000(As of the end of the corresponding month of the second stipendiary year, at least 65% of the policies finished in the first stipendiary year are still in effect.)
3rd Year : ₹5,000(As of the end of the corresponding month of the third stipendiary year, at least 65% of the policies finished in the second stipendiary year are still in effect.)
Eligibility and Enrollment Process:
- Who can apply:
Only Women age Between 18-70 Years.

Step-by-step enrollment procedure:
1) Go to the LIC website.
2)The “Click Here For Bima Sakhi” button should be clicked.
3)Enter the necessary information on the following page, including your name, date of birth, address, phone number, email address, and whether you are connected to any LIC agents or employees. Then, click “Submit.”
3)After choosing your state, pick the city where you wish to work.
4)After that, click “Submit Lead Form” after choosing the branch office.
The following women are ineligible to apply scheme:
- Women had ties to current LIC agents and staff. Spouses, kids, stepchildren and adoptive children, parents, siblings, sisters, and direct in-laws are all considered relatives.
2) Women shouldn’t work with LIC as retired workers or former agents.
3) Women shouldn’t be active LIC agents.
Progress:
- The program has had a lot of participation in the month since it was introduced:
- More than 50,000 people have signed up.
- There were 14,583 Bima Sakhis actively selling policies and 27,695 appointment letters issued.
Future Plan
- In order to have at least one Bima Sakhi in every panchayat within a year, LIC plans to appoint 200,000 Bima Sakhis during the following three years.
